Geneva Train Stations
Several train stations are a travel hub for millions of visitors coming in and out of Geneva every year.
Gare Cornavin
Central Railway Station for Geneva, conveniently located in wider city center. Everything is close from here - Paquis, des Grottes area, plenty of hotels all around. Lake and Rhone river are one street away, behind which are the main shopping streets and the historic old town. International Area can be reached by bus in 5 minutes.
Airport connection
Gare Cornavin connects Geneva city with the Swiss Railway Network (CFF or SBB)
and thus with the rest of Switzerland (Montreux, Basel, Bern); as well as with France on he west (Dijon, Lyon, Paris, Nice). There is a direct airport train link connecting Gare Cornavin with Geneva Airport by 1-stop 6 minute train.
Gare Cornavin is a hub of all public transport in Geneva - many trams and buses stop here making it easy to start Your journey from here to any corner of the city.
Shopping at Cornavin station: Grocery store (Migros), Starbucks and other cafes, flower shop, public transport tickets store; plus whole shopping mole Metro Shopping Cornavin .
Geneva Airport Railway Station
Is located right at the Airport, one level below the Airport shopping zone, thus comfortly providing arrivals to Geneva Airport a quick connection to the city. During daytime, every hour several trains go between Airport and Geneva's Central Station (Cornavin) directly. Journey takes 6 minutes.
Chêne-Bourg Train Station
Is connecting Geneva with Annemasse, small town located east from Geneva right behind the French borders. Start Your journey from Chêne-Bourg Railway Station via Gare de Annemasse if You want to reach south and east France, or Italy. Preferred destinations from here are Annecy, Evian, Chamonix, Grenoble and Chambery.
Gare Secheron
Secheron Railway Station is much less frequently used train station located north from Gare Cornavin, at the Geneva's international district. Most of the trains between Nyon and Geneva also stop here. Secheron is long years under the construction, not yet fully utilized. It's main advantage to Gare Cornavin is it's immediate proximity to the whole Geneva International District.
Lancy train station
Gare de Lancy-Pont-Rouge is sheduled to be opened in 2019 to provide entry to Geneva from the south.
