Place des Nations
Place des Nations is a big square situated in the heart of Geneva's international district, in front of the United Nations headquaters, famous for housing Broken Chair.
Place des Nations specally proposed as a place to freely express any opinion - political, religious, personal or other. It is thus often full of people demonstrating or filling petitions.
Huge Broken Chair is commemorating victims of mine disasters.
Square itself is build of big marble blocks and 3 rows of simple fountains by 12. Many tourists come here to make a picutres, but square lacks any restaurant or refreshment facilities, except for water spring.
Lot of chairs around the square to sit.
Small green park opposit the street.
There is a bus and tram stops Nations, connecting Place des Nations with the city.
Many international organizations are located in the surrounding area - Unicef, WHO, WTO, Red Cross.
