Shops in Geneva

The most usual way to buy foods, drinks and household stuff are the grocery stores. In Geneva you won't find huge hypermarkets inside the city, rather medium-sized supermarkets and grocery stores positioned evenly through the city.

There are 3 most popular supermarket chains in Switzerland among the citizens: Migros, Coop and Manor. While Migros and Coop offers its customers quality swiss products for good value, Manor is the top quality, high class supermarket that will amaze You with its beautiful interior, perfect taste and quality and luxurious packaging of its products.

Swiss people enjoy luxurious foods from various exotic countries and Manor meets their needs.

You can find dozens of small supermarkets in the whole city of Geneva, opening from Monday till Saturday (8am-6/7pm). In Switzerland mostly all of the shops are closed on Sunday, except of small tobacco and newspaper shops, where you can buy also the basic foods, diary products, fruits and vegetables with a little but higher price.

There are also other, cheaper chains in Geneva: Denner, Lidl, Aldi.

The opening hours for grocery stores wary among the shops and for given shop they are different every day. On Sunday grocery shops are closed.
