Passage De Monetier

Passage de Monetier is the former secret passage of Geneva, used as a part of more complex system of hidden pasages for unnoticed soldiers transfers and civilians escape.

Today it is a popular attraction which is however denied to tourists, except of few lucky ones, as it is closed by gate all year round except on two days in December, during the Escalade festival.

At the weekend of Escalade the passage becomes open and queues of both locals and lucky tourists who are in Geneva at that time queue from half an hour to hour long queue just to see it and walk through it.
